The honest version of what this mala is

Genuine Saptamukhi malas are rare and pricey - sub-₹1,000 listings on Indian e-commerce are almost always carved 5-mukhi beads or low-grade Indonesian fakes. Ours isn't. Every Saptamukhi mala is hand-strung with 32 lab-verified 7-mukhi beads + 1 sumeru, on red silk thread.

What a 7 Mukhi mala is actually for

This is a purpose-driven sadhana mala, not a daily-default one. Each bead is governed by Mahalakshmi (Anang form) and ruled by Shani (Saturn). Per Shiva Purana, Ch. 25 v. 73, the wearer is blessed with sustained wealth. The mala is used for two specific practices: Mahalakshmi sadhana (chanting "Om Shreem Mahalakshmiyei Namah" daily for wealth invocation) and Shani Shanti (chanting "Om Sham Shanaishcharaya Namah" during Sade Sati and Shani Mahadasha to soften Saturn's malefic effects).

Who this is for

People in Sade Sati (the 7.5-year Saturn transit, statistically 1 in 3 adults at any time) or Shani Mahadasha (19-year cycle). Business owners and finance professionals seeking wealth-stability sadhana. Those who already wear a 5-mukhi mala daily and want to add a Saturn/Lakshmi-specific practice. Capricorn (Makara) and Aquarius (Kumbha) Moon signs.

The honest guarantee

SGL certificate mismatch, damaged on arrival, or string defects? Full refund within 3 days, with a clear unboxing video. We do not promise wealth in any timeline - that's illegal under India's Consumer Protection Act. The mala is your tactile companion in a practice that's measured in months and years, not days.

First wearing day & activation

Wear for the first time on a Saturday at sunrise during Sade Sati onset, or any Friday during Diwali / Margashirsha for Mahalakshmi focus. Wash in kacha doodh + Gangajal, apply chandan, then chant Om Hum Namah × 108 + Om Shreem Mahalakshmiyei Namah × 108 (or Om Sham Shanaishcharaya Namah × 108 for Saturn focus).

Daily japa protocol

Hold the mala in the right hand, drape over middle finger, move beads with thumb (index finger does not touch). Face East or North. Time: Brahma Muhurta (~96–48 min before sunrise). One mantra per bead = 32 = one round - pause at sumeru, do not cross, reverse direction for next round.

Mantra pairing

For wealth focus: "Om Shreem Mahalakshmiyei Namah" - chanted Friday or daily. For Saturn pacification: "Om Sham Shanaishcharaya Namah" - chanted Saturday. Either or both can be done - many practitioners alternate by day of the week.

Care & storage

Avoid soap, shampoo, perfume, lotion, hot water. Apply til (sesame) oil monthly to maintain seed hydration. Re-thread every 3–4 months. Store in a silk pouch or copper kalash. Ideally only you handle the mala. Re-energise with smoke after any cremation/funeral exposure.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before you buy.

A 7 Mukhi (Saptamukhi) Mala is a specialist sadhana tool, not a daily-default mala. Two main uses: Mahalakshmi sadhana (chanting "Om Shreem Mahalakshmiyei Namah" for sustained wealth invocation) and Shani Shanti (chanting "Om Sham Shanaishcharaya Namah" to pacify Saturn during Sade Sati, Shani Dhaiya, or Shani Mahadasha).

Yes - Saptamukhi is the most-recommended Rudraksh during Sade Sati, the 7.5-year Saturn transit over the natal Moon that affects everyone once every ~30 years. The mala is also used during Shani Dhaiya (2.5-year cycle) and Shani Mahadasha (19-year cycle). The combined Mahalakshmi + Shani mantra practice is believed to soften malefic Saturn effects while invoking wealth flow.

Genuine Saptamukhi beads are far rarer than 5-mukhi. A real Indonesian 7-mukhi 32-bead mala typically retails at ₹3,500–₹15,000 - Nepali (premium) is ₹25,000+. Sub-₹1,000 listings on cheap sites are almost always carved-up 5 mukhi seeds, bhadraksh, or Indonesian beads passed off as Nepali. Each of our 32 beads is SGL certified.

Two primary options: "Om Shreem Mahalakshmiyei Namah" (Mahalakshmi mantra - for wealth invocation, best on Friday) and "Om Sham Shanaishcharaya Namah" (Shani mantra - for Saturn pacification, best on Saturday). Many practitioners alternate by day. The bija "Om Hum Namah" (per bead) is used during the activation ritual, then the deity mantras are used for daily japa.

On a Saturday or Friday at sunrise, wash in kacha doodh + Gangajal, apply chandan, place near a Lakshmi or Shiva photo. Chant Om Hum Namah × 108 followed by your chosen deity mantra × 108. The Pran Pratishtha is what "awakens" (jagrut) the mala - without it, the beads are inert from a tantric perspective.

Each bead must show 7 distinct natural faces (mukhi) - the clearest sign of a genuine bead. Visually, true mukhi are continuous natural ridges crown-to-base. Many sellers carve up 5-mukhi beads or sell bhadraksh (which floats and is sometimes mildly toxic) as 7-mukhi. Every GemSense Saptamukhi mala ships with SGL certification (representative beads).

Both are traditionally accepted. Many practitioners wear the Saptamukhi mala continuously around the neck for ongoing Saturn pacification, removing only for shower and certain restricted activities. Others reserve it strictly for daily japa, storing in a silk pouch between sessions. If worn daily, follow care rules carefully - Rudraksh deteriorates with chemical and water exposure.

Sade Sati is a 7.5-year process - Mahalakshmi sadhana is a long arc, not a 30-day promise. Most practitioners report subtle shifts - clearer financial decisions, fewer reactive choices, less Saturnine heaviness - within 60 to 90 days of consistent daily japa (1–11 rounds per day). Results are subjective and not guaranteed. For genuine financial difficulty, please also consult a qualified financial advisor.
